Lauren Alaina has been named as one of the performer's on Fox's American Country New Year's Eve Live.

The American Idol runner-up will join country music star Rodney Atkins for the special holiday event, which is set to air Saturday, December 31 from 11pm to 12.30am.

Fox cameras will record live video of the performances from Las Vegas and New York City, where the New Year's Eve ball will drop into Times Square.

Additional performers, as well as the event's host, will be announced at a later date.

Alaina recently offered her support to eliminated X Factor USA contestant Rachel Crow, telling her that she is absolutely amazing.

Last month, the 17-year-old confessed that she has wanted to release an album ever since she was 3, saying that she loves to be in front of crowds and sing.
