The Tenth Annual Conference on New Trends in Immunosuppression and
Immunotherapy (IMMUNO 2013) will take place from 11 to 12 March 2013 in
Barcelona, Spain.
Immunosuppression consists in reducing the activation or efficacy of the immune system. Some portions of the immune system itself have immuno-suppressive effects on other parts of the immune system, and immunosuppression may occur as an adverse reaction to treatment of other conditions. Immunosuppression after solid organ transplantation is complex even though the medical community has witnessed great advances in the care of patients receiving organ transplants over the last decade. Improved therapeutic strategies have been associated with better patient and graft survival rates; however, the adverse effects associated with these agents and the risks of long-term immunosuppression present a number of challenges for clinicians.
The event will bring together researchers and practitioners to discuss the latest developments in the fields of immunosuppression, immunomodulation and immunotherapy.
