About Sojha:
A beautiful destination located in the
valley of Seraj in Himachal Pradesh, still undiscovered by many, Sojha
is a breathtakingly beautiful place... The place is fast gaining
recognition as a travel destination because of its untouched beauty and
limited crowd. The mornings in Sojha are especially refreshing. The
dense wooded mountain populated with pines, deodars and toosh define the
beauty and oneness of Sojha. One can just walk around into the jungle.
One can see the great snow peaks beyond the tree line and some great
cloud formations.
Hikes around Sojha:
Sarolsar Lake: 5Kms from Jalori Pass.
The Lake is small but in surrounded by all the beauty of the mountains.
The hike to the Sarolsar Lake is longer but less difficult. On the road
towards Jalori Pass you can take the road into the forest and see a
waterfall
Waterfall Point: 1Km from Sojha
Raghupur Fort: 6Kms from Sojha
The other walk from Jalori pass leads to
Raghupur Fort or Raghupur Fort meadows. Though shorter the hike is very
difficult. It overlooks the Tirthan Valley in Kulu district in the West
and Shimla district in the East. It is a steep hike for about 100mts
when suddenly the mountain forests clear into the Rolling Meadows. You
will get a panoramic view of The Himalayas, Dhauladhar and Kinnaur
ranges. A little ahead you will get the dilapidated Raghupur Fort. It is
said that the erstwhile king of Mandi province built this fort hundreds
of years ago. The meadows also happen to be the favorite ground of
local shepherds and gujjars who migrate here during the summers.
