The
Bangalore Political Action Committee (B.Pac), a citizens' collective, in
association with The Times of India, is launching a 'Candidates meet
the Citizens' series of debates from Saturday, bringing voters
face-to-face with contestants from leading parties in the three city
parliamentary constituencies.
The B.Pac Lok Sabha 2014 Constituency Debate series, the collective believes, will enable voters to make an informed choice. Candidates will be able to interact with citizens and citizen groups in a nonconfrontational conversation, enabling a free exchange of each candidate's views on the issues they propose to take up in Parliament and concerns raised by their respective party manifestoes.
The Saturday session will bring together voters of Bangalore South parliamentary constituency and their candidates , HN Ananth Kumar of the BJP, Nandan Nilekani of the Congress, and Nina Nayak of the AAP. B.Pac president Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw will moderate the session.
The inaugural debate will be held from 3pm to 5pm at Mangala Hall, NMKRV College for Women, III Block, 8th Main Rd, Jayanagar.
The debate for Bangalore Central will be held from 4pm to 6pm on April 5 at Khincha Auditorium, Race Course Road. Candidates C Narayanaswamy (Cong), D V Sadananda Gowda (BJP) and Prof Babu Mathew (AAP) will participate.
The debate for Bangalore North will be held from 4pm to 6pm on April 8 at Patel's Inn, RT Nagar. Candidates Rizwan Arshad (Cong), PC Mohan (BJP), V Balakrishnan (AAP) and Nandini Alva (JD-S ) will take part in the debate.
