How To Make Money As An Event Planner

You will struggle to make money as an event planner if you don’t charge enough for their services.
Here are 3 tips to help you establish your event planning fees:

Consider all the time you don’t get paid for

If you think $50 or even $150 per hour is too much to charge for event planning, remember the many hours you put into your business that no one pays for.
As an event planner, you spend time on many other tasks, like:
  • research
  • writing event planning blog posts and newsletters or RFPs
  • networking with industry professionals, potential clients and vendors
  • negotiating with suppliers
  • preparing for client appointments
  • answering potential clients’ questions in advance
  • scheduling and re-scheduling appointments
  • traveling to and from meetings
  • follow up calls (before, during and after the event)
  • keeping track of client expenses
  • bookkeeping
  • shopping for supplies

Consider the many benefits you bring to your clients

Do you believe you provide real value to your clients? If you don’t believe this, it will be very difficult to convince them and therefore make money as an event planner. It might help to think about the many benefits you can bring to a client if you do the job well.
Don’t fall into the trap of feeling embarrassed about your rates.
So, why shouldn’t a professional event planner be paid well?
Perhaps you’re thinking, “it’s a slow economy, my clients aren’t going to spend money on my services.”
If event planning can save a client time and money, how much is that worth to them?
Event planning is an investment in a potentially significant return for the client. Consider this when determining your rates and how much money you should make as an event planner.

Remember that when you’re in a service business you are selling YOUR time

You have a limited “inventory” of your time.  Since you can’t manufacture more hours in a week, the only way to earn more is to charge more for your time. You will never make real money as an event planner until you get your pricing strategy right!
If you’ve already purchased Event Planning Blueprint, you’ll immediately get a BONUS for an effective pricing strategy that you can use to set your prices.
If you haven’t yet purchased your system, you can order and download it right away. I’ve shared everything about pricing based on my real-life experience of being an entrepreneur since 2004.
I have also built an event planning business from scratch in a very competitive market.
