Five years ago, on a wild and stormy autumn day, I was filled with an indescribable joy that will almost certainly be the greatest moment of my life. It’s the day I stared in utter amazement and wonder at my daughter. It’s the day I became a mother and met my future. birthday party planner in gurgaon

When I asked my daughter what type of party she would like to celebrate her 5th birthday, I was not the least bit surprised when she requested a fairy theme. At the age of five she is delightfully immersed in imaginative play and the existence of fairies are very real. And birthday celebrations are a chance to express who they are and what they love.
The best part about planning this party was consulting with my “client” every step of the way. My daughter loved every aspect of the event coordination, from developing the invitee’s list, to creating party decorations and filling the party bags. We had so much fun and her involvement made it very special.
The venue
Our backyard provided the perfect setting for the ‘Fairy Garden Party’. Scattered tables and chairs around the garden enabled the kids to sit down to eat and we were blessed with a perfect autumn day. Balloons, a fairy castle and pinwheels complemented the whimsical theme.
Party Decorations
I am typically more creative with kitchen knives than with scissors but for this party I set myself the challenge of making the decorations. Together, we created a 3-metre colourful icy-pole garland to hang above the party food table.
The entertainment
Two “real” fairies entertained the guests with nail art, face painting and party games, including pass-the-parcel, musical butterflies and a piñata. The piñata was filled with my little pony’sinstead of lollies; appreciated by the guests and mothers in equal measure.
Party food
I did all the catering myself, with the help of my assistant chef. I consciously chose party food that would fit the theme, look fabulous, and food my daughter could easily help me prepare. The party spread included: fairy “Grissini” wands, pink buttercream cup cakes, star fairy bread, rainbow fruit wands and a show-stopper party cake. The ballerina cake took four weeks to create and involved lots of kneading, rolling and fondant dying. The vanilla cake was coated with pink buttercream icing underneath white fondant and topped with pink fondant hearts and a proud, beautiful ballerina figurine. Fortunately my daughter declared it “the best cake ever”, a title previously held by a Woolworths mud cake!
