About 100 people from Kasan, Hariya Bans, Aliyar, Dhana, Bhondsi and Bas Khusla villages met at Rajput Vatika near Sector 14 on Sunday and decided to meet newly elected chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar within 15 days to seek his intervention for an early investigation in the case. The villagers have also decided to take their protest to Jantar Mantar in New Delhi next Wednesday.

"We will stage a protest at Jantar Mantar on November 5. We are quite hopeful, now that we have the support of several Rajput villages, NGOs and students' organizations, and a new chief minister," said Arun, Pinky's brother. The family is also going to write to Union Minister of Home Affairs Rajnath Singh, Minister of Human Resource Development Smriti Irani, and the Ministry of Women and Child Development.

Bhondsi-resident Ravi Raghav has also started a campaign, 'Gurgaon Chhatra Andolan', to gather more support from across the state. "We are not just fighting for justice for Pinky; our fight is against Haryana's education system. Pinky raised her voice against mismanagement in the education system, which was going on for several years," he said.

They also demanded immediate removal of college staff members, named by Pinky in her statement, and their immediate arrest.
